Good advice! I agree with you that cheaper parts are necessarily cheaper in the long run … have found this out the hard way a couple of times. I have also found out that a person with staff discount at an auto parts retailer is a good person to know! Another good idea when choosing an auto repair shop is to find one that provides upfront quotes … it sometimes seems that mechanics pad their pockets by adding on charges after they’ve given their customers an initial low price. The sort of shop you want to send your car to won’t do that, though!
